I was lucky enough to be a beta tester for Squaresliding (which I mentioned HERE, in my last installment of RUMOR MILL, a few days ago) and I must say: It's gonna be awesome! It's a very addictive puzzle game with great graphics and sound, and best of all, it's touchscreen compatible!
The game takes place on a numbered grid. You can move up, down, left, or diagonally by choosing a number adjacent to your cursor. Whatever number you choose is how many spaces your cursor will move (i.e., if you choose a number 3 spot to your left, your cursor will slide 3 spaces to the left). There are also helpful items scattered across the grid, but you have to plan your moves carefully, because you don't want to accidentally slide into a trap or the side of the grid - doing so will score you a fat "game over". You must also be careful not to box yourself in - every time you pass through a numbered box, it turns blue. The longer you play, the longer the trail of blue boxes becomes. If you happen to move/slide into contact with the trail, your game will end.
I don't know when Squaresliding will be released for download, but the game seems pretty complete. So, it's just a matter of time before this awesome little touchscreen game will be available to GP2X users.
